    make good choice

          今天是genetics retreat, 好久没有吃到这么多好东西了,毕竟还是自己人亲啊。
          最关键的是请来了mit的教授,也有幸跟他一起吃了顿饭,虽然我只是在一旁听他高谈阔论,但这种感觉真好。
          他说的大多数话我已经记不大清楚了,不过有两句倒还算精辟"work slowly. make good choice."这跟中国古话“三思而后行”倒算不谋而合。其实也是,如果走在错误的方向,即便很努力,能做的最多也只是悲情英雄,别人给的最多也只能是怜惜。
          这不禁让我想到了明朝的海瑞。无可厚非,他绝对是个好官,也绝对是个令人敬佩的人。可是,他生在了一个错误的年代,一个不属于他的时代。他天真地以为可以凭借一己之力来颠覆整个制度——一个已经运行了几千年的机制,一个已经流淌在所有人血液中的传统,结果当然可想而知。最终还被同僚说成“莅官无一善状,惟务诈诞,矜己夸人,一言一论无不为士论所笑”,实在令人痛心。借用鲁迅的话就是“哀其不幸,怜其不争”。毕竟,我一直觉得如果要跟恶势力斗争的话,必须首先得学会如何保护自己,如何在自己变得强大之前不先被他们吃掉。打个不太恰当的比喻,就像赚钱一样,从100万变成200万、300万远比赚第一个100万来得容易,这也就是现实生活中没多少富人的原因,毕竟大多数人都不知道如何获取第一桶金。一样的道理,当你足够强大的时候,要想打败恶势力简直易如反掌,因此最关键也往往最困难的就是如何在自己还不够强大的时候能够有效地保护自己。这或许就是我们国家90年代时候的国策——韬光养晦吧。
          扯远了,anyway,今天还真不错。听师姐说,往年我们都是在自己系的大楼里办这个活动,吃的也是些乱其八糟的东西。今年是我们系第一次来这个据说是iowa最好的hotel办,看来我的人品还不赖。
